What is Numerology?
Numerology is the belief in the divine or mystical relationship between numbers and events or living things. It is often associated with the paranormal, astrology, and similar divinatory arts. Numerology assigns numerical values to letters to find the numerical value of words, names, or even dates.
The Two Main Systems:
- Pythagorean System (Western): The most common system used today, it assigns numbers 1-9 to letters in order (A=1, B=2, etc.).
- Chaldean System (Ancient): One of the oldest systems, it assigns numbers based on vibration rather than sequence, and doesn't use the number 9 except in final calculations.
